Brisbane Domestic Violence Networks

Brisbane Integrated Response to Domestic Violence (BIRDV)
An integrated response to domestic and family violence supports, enhances and strengthen systemic responses, strategic partnerships and community service engagement for people impacted by violence. It focuses on enhancing the service system through legal  and community service pathways for both those surviving and those using violence.

Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS) convenes a monthly network of services involved in the planning, development and implantation of the BIRDV.

Brisbane Family Violence Network (BFVN)
The BFVN is a network of organisations who come together to focus on domestic and family violence in the Greater Brisbane area. The network is made up of organisations of differing types and focus from Government, Non-Government and other network members. For some attending organisations domestic and family violence is a core function of their service delivery, for others it may exist as a part of their service response. Both are seen of equal value to the collaborative function of the network.

Broadly the network exists to improve the responses for women, children and families experiencing domestic and family violence. The overall purpose is to encourage cross-sectorial discussion, to strengthen partnerships and provide opportunities for collaborative practice.

BDVS convenes a quarterly BFVN meeting.

For further information please contact the Convenor on (07) 3217 2544.
